Clara Barton made a difference in the world as a helpful nurse. Clara was a nurse from the age of 11 until she was 91. Barton left his job in 1861 at the patent office to help with the Civil War. During the night Clara carried supplies, food and water to two hospitals on the back of a mule. He helped feed and care for the men of war. Some doctors thought that using medical supplies was a disgrace to their practice because they thought they could do much better than medical supplies were a disgrace, so they fired her....
