According to a survey conducted by the statistical site Nation Master (2013), twenty-one out of thirty-four member countries of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) had over 14, 4% as the average percentage of single households in 2013. To be more specific, the United States, Australia, Canada, Sweden and Japan are the top five countries with the highest percentage of people living alone, nearly 26% of the population in each of these countries. These statistics clearly demonstrate how widespread the phenomenon of individualism is in recent days. In other words, people today are more used to being alone than being together. In terms of this new trend, two sociology professors, Mirowsky and Ross (2014) found that people find it difficult to cooperate with each other due to the lack of social interactions with other people, resulting from social isolation. They stressed that the time has come when the importance of working together must be highlighted to promote a communicative and collaborative society. Indeed, placing an emphasis on teamwork in universities seems particularly challenging due to the three main benefits that teamwork can bring: improved communication skills, improved leadership, and increased responsibility. For starters, teamwork offers college students the opportunity to improve communication skills. Teamwork is an activity carried out by multiple people with the same goal. The more people there are, the more perspectives there must be. In other words, conflicts arising from each member's different points of view are inevitable in a disparate group of individuals.
