James Watson was a very interesting person. He grew up in a big city. Watson attended many different colleges. He discovered many things. Watson has also won awards for his discoveries. James Dewey Watson was born in Chicago, Illinois. Watson was born on April 6, 1928. He spent much of his childhood in Chicago. He attended Horce Mann Grammar School. Watson won a scholarship to the University of Chicago. Watson enrolled in college at the age of 15. Watson then earned a degree in zoology. After that, he went to Indiana University in Bloomington. Watson was then engaged in research at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. Watson later became a Senior Research Fellow in Biology at the California Institute of Technology. A year passed then Watson moved to Harvard University and became a biology professor.Watson began by reading Erwin Schrodinger's book: What is Life? The physical appearance of the living cell. This book interested him. The secrets of life were kept in genes and chromosomes. Watson went with Salvador Luria to do a Ph.D. Every time he went to do this he thought it would be a great time to work on some of these problems. Watson went to Europe after receiving his doctorate. He also went to Copenhagen and the Cavendish Laboratory at Cambridge University. Watson did some research and figured out what the key to life was and it turned out to be DNA. He wanted to solve its structure. While doing all this he shared an office with Francis Crick. Crick was also a Ph.D. student interested in the structure of DNA.
