Fast Globalization and interconnectivity create the main driving force in creating and increasing opportunities. Therefore, society must acquire new trends of innovation to thrive in its way of life. Our community has revolutionized significantly due to interconnectivity compared to a few years ago when the use of Internet connection did not exist. It has rapidly changed our culture, models and styles of socialization, political and economic progress. The Internet has proven to be a tool to spread news across the world in a short period of time. The transformation of physical space according to man has been innovative since historical times. Space has been fully discovered as globalization and civilization have made more and more places accessible. Therefore, the time needed to cover large distances was significantly reduced during the industrial revolution as globalization also led to urbanization. Space-time compression refers to technological innovations that accelerate time and consequently reduce distance during a given historical moment. This technological change that has brought about space and time cannot be used alone without social change. David Harvey uses measurement in his work to analyze the compression of space-time along with post-modernity. David concludes that social change boils down to a “global village” in which interconnectedness plays an important role (Harvey 1990). “Globalization has shrunk the world from large to medium and has been driven by companies globalizing for markets and jobs” (Friedman 2005). This has forced individuals and communities to try to adapt to this globalized world. This process has led to the empowerment of society in different parts of the world, creating a very strong competition where... middle of paper... this also requires an increase in energy consumption. However, much of the demand is growing globally as new innovations are discovered that create more consumption. This situation will create strong strains on environmental and energy security, which is constantly driven by increasing population growth and economic growth. A widely used type of energy is electricity and more and more projects are underway to promote equitable distribution of this resource. Communities will benefit greatly especially in developing countries, thus increasing their standard of living. References Friedman L. Thomas; it is a flat world after all.
