Hallucinogens are drugs known to cause hallucinations. These are distortions of a person's sense of reality. When a person suffers from it, they may see images, hear and experience sensations that they think are real but which in reality do not exist. These types of drugs can also cause mood swings. A person's heart rate and blood pressure may increase, and a person may even have convulsions or seizures if these drugs are used in high doses.
