Emotional obstacle “You have to put your emotions into your work” is a phrase that is often heard in life. He proposes that emotions, which are often ignored, are the key to success. This is true in many respects, however there are times when emotions should be limited in influencing one's thoughts. The search for knowledge must be completely objective. Therefore, although emotional intelligence is necessary, it is more of a hindrance than a help and should be controlled. Since knowledge is justified true belief, it follows that justification must be logical and true in itself. It also needs to be accurate, but broad. Emotional intelligence goes against this by treating subjective feelings as facts. Since the logical chain is only as strong as its weakest link, knowledge built strongly with emotional intelligence can often turn out to be incorrect. Take, for example, an individual who studies the disposition of dogs. If this individual had a traumatic childhood experience involving a dog (an attack, for example), this fragment of emotion will always taint the individual's research, even if the circumstances are unrelated (the child dog may have been rabid ). Emotional intelligence is very important, however, in living life. That's why we evolved it. Revisiting the above dog and overlooking the rabies, it is possible that there is something about this individual that attracts hostility in dogs. While this says nothing about dogs, childhood experience conditions the individual to avoid dogs in the future. This gives the person a greater chance of living longer and procreating, an innate human goal. Emotional intelligence is very important, but it is mainly for survival in everyday life. The pursuit of knowledge, however, is not an everyday occurrence necessary for survival. It is part of a profound reflection on life, reserved for philosophers. There is no doubt that emotional intelligence is necessary in the pursuit of knowledge. Without any emotional attachment, there would be no pursuit of knowledge in the first place. Some might argue that emotional intelligence helps guide us in the pursuit of knowledge. This notion is not logical as it is itself subjective. How can we know whether we are guided correctly or not? As illustrated above, just because something “seems” correct doesn't mean it is. Things that can be discovered through emotional intelligence can also be found objectively. Using emotional intelligence, it can be deduced that sugar is good for the human body because it gives pleasure to the consumer.
