The basis of this essay is to address the question of the future of art: is it digital? There will be considerations on the development of technology, its impact on art, how it influences society in terms of how people interact with the world, and comparisons with the findings of renowned professionals on the topic. Art itself consists of various techniques and mediums used by professionals in visual form to portray an event, idea or communicative purpose. In this contemporary era, art has differentiated into various styles and movements, mainly between traditional arts and digital arts. Art itself as a whole is defined as "the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, which produces works appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power” (Stevenson, 2010, p88). the history of art can be compared to the history of literature. Both contain continuity and alteration between each other and with progressive development over time. Likewise they are interrupted by works that seem to overcome circumstantial limits, with an infinite fascination of independence from the work itself and the relationship of their renowned creators. Art itself, however, throughout history has depended on the physical survival of the medium in which it was created. It depended on a number of factors, as did its destruction. An example of this is religious images, destroyed to subvert the beliefs of their devotees. Most of the works existing today would have been preserved in various private collections and museums for their artistic value.
