It is true that people with attention deficit disorder have difficulty in school or in everyday situations, but they can adapt and learn how to use this disability to their advantage. There are many people who are and can be very successful despite having attention deficit disorder. Explaining attention deficit disorder is not easy, there are many myths and controversies about this disorder. I know firsthand the difficulties and controversies associated with attention deficit disorder (ADD) because it was difficult for me to receive the diagnosis as an adult. Some people may not believe that it is a real disorder or that it only affects children, that it is real and actually exists. It's not just a childhood disorder; does not discriminate based on age, race or gender. To better understand this complex disorder it is important to know its characteristics, causes and treatments. A detailed analysis will include information and difficulties in experiencing, coping with, and managing ADDI. It can be difficult and very frustrating to not be able to understand or understand things that seem so simple to most other people. Following simple directions, difficulty understanding a story, difficulty staying organized, constantly late, forgetting things, unable to sit still during a lesson, daydreaming, unable to fully concentrate on a certain topic or task, not able ability to finish schoolwork or everyday situations pretty much sums up a person who may be struggling with ADD. Family, friends, teachers, and much of society often label this behavior as stupid, destructive, and/or lazy.
