The right to lie predisposes society to a place where an individual can lie to achieve his or her own desires while completely ignoring the interests of others. The Kantian principle aims to ensure that people are treated with respect as independent, rational and moral beings. Through this type of treatment, the person's sense of dignity, which is an essential element of their personality, is respected and enhanced. The right to lie violates the Kantian principle because it denies a person the rational, moral and independent choice of his essential personality. Therefore, the right to lie should be denied to ensure that people are not treated as means to realize some personal goals and desires at the expense of others.
