One career can determine the fate of the rest of your entire life. There are hundreds of different careers to choose from. Perhaps for someone who loves to write or express themselves with words, the invigorating career of a reporter is a perfect fit. Many people use reporting skills in everyday life, such as telling some friends about a sleepover at home or a trip to Florida with family over the summer. Even gossip (even if shameful) can be exciting. Being the first person to say something about an upcoming event or details of a current event can be fun. It can be especially fun when you do it for a living! A journalist's job is to report firsthand the details of important events. If anyone wants to know the details of what is happening in the world, they can always check the news. Journalists constantly keep everyone informed about world holidays, disasters and almost everything else. Anyone who finds this job exciting should be a reporter! In life, being a reporter requires special skills and years of schooling. For example, they must know how to write comprehensively and effectively (Career “Reporter” par. 8). Therefore, the job also requires persuasive skills, which must be reflected in their work, as well as judgment and decision-making skills ("Reporter" What is paragraph 10). Problem solving and coordination skills will also help in this workforce (“Reporter” What is paragraph 10). Likewise, journalists should be active listeners (“Reporters” What is paragraph 9). When you are in a work environment, loud noises and sounds can disturb your concentration, so it is important to remember how to stay on task. If being a journalist is anything less than that for a person, then it is not for them. Just remember, never give up, and whatever career you choose is already ripe for the taking.
