Robert E. Lee is one of the most famous generals in the United States. Lee is also known for his admiration for George Washington and his simple methods, which were very effective and also reflected his personality. However, with Lee's admiration of Washington we see that it helped Lee never escape the revolutionary image he made himself out to be and that he lived his life in the shadow of George Washington. Robert E. Lee was born January 19, 1807 in Westmoreland County and grew up to be a serious boy.
