Adolf Hitler“Germany will either be a world power or not at all.” (Hitler 137) Hitler was driven by his hunger for power, causing the deaths of millions of innocent people. No one could have imagined the dramatic effect this man would soon have on the world. Adolf Hitler's life began in Austria on April 20, 1889. Born at Braunqu-am-inn. Hitler had four siblings Gustav Hitler, Ida Hitler, Paula Hitler and Edmund Hitler. Gustav and Ida Hitler died in childhood, while his brother Edmund Hitler died at the age of six. Ida Hitler was the only one to live to adulthood. Hitler also had a half-brother and sister, Alois Hitler Jr. and Angela Hitler Raubal. Adolf Hitler was the fourth child of six children. His father was Alois Hitler and his mother was Klara Hitler. Adolf Hitler moved several times during his childhood, mostly to farms. (5)Hitler's father saw talent in him when it came to academics, so he pushed him. He took a great interest in art and was an excellent student in his early school years, but his talent faded as he achieved higher grades. Hitler had spent four years at the Realschule in Linz. He had left school to become a painter. It became very unpopular and went straight from top to bottom. In October 1907 he left Vienna, where he remained until 1913, leading a bohemian and vagabond existence. Hitler's father died in 1903 of pleural hemorrhage and later in 1907 his mother died of terminal breast cancer. (6) Hitler's dream of becoming a painter did not come true, so he decided to join the army. When Hitler became old enough he joined the army. He was a member of important parties and organizations.
