QUESTION 1Based on your view of the objectives of performance appraisal, evaluate the perspectives on performance appraisal presented by managers. The evaluation process begins with evaluation. After evaluation comes reward and encouragement of effort and skill. There are many problems in the evaluation system presented by managers. The problem that occurs is its ability to motivate, push an employee out of the company or just keep everything stable. Based on this case study we can see that one of the flaws is that emotions can influence the evaluation process. If a manager just had a problem with his employees, anger and frustration could cause a good employee to receive a bad grade on his evaluation. The evaluation process also lets in dishonesty. For this case study Tom, one of the managers got angry with one of his employees and still felt anger while filling out the evaluation forms. His frustrations with that boy make him biased in his assessment. In the case in question, a manager gave a good rating to an employee even though her work was not up to par. His reasoning was that the employee was going through a tough time and this sign would help pull her out of it. Furthermore, according to research, when managers sit down to evaluate someone's performance over the past year, they will only be able to remember and actively use 15% of the performance they actually observed. The evaluation is very important because it will become part of your permanent written record that will influence your career. I once worked for a company where I was evaluated by my supervisor. And one day we argue because he always asks me to do some job that he can do alone, like photocopying documents. He's not responsible... middle of the paper... plus, performance reviews also create communication gaps. If inadequate employees are fired without giving them a chance to improve, it will be unfair. They may take legal action due to the termination. The other benefit of the system is communicating a strategic vision. The objectives of the employees must be the same and linked to the strategic objectives of the organization.
