Growing up during the "This is your brain on drugs. Any questions?" campaign in the 1980s; I understand very well the importance of spreading the word about drugs and their abuse. Even though I have children of my own now, I often miss the message of current campaigns. Until this class project I really don't remember the latest public service announcement (PSA) about drugs and drug abuse. An ad for an HBO documentary, Crank: Made in America, quickly changed that. It had all it took to attract the viewer's attention; The dramatic lighting, the artistic (but unnecessary) camera angles that never give you a full view of the person the camera is focused on, the black and white film used and the overall message, being alone. The ad was clearly aimed at both men and women and the age factor didn't seem to be an issue at all.
