Have you ever noticed a child who has difficulty concentrating, who cannot sit still, who interrupts others during conversation, or who has acted impulsively without thinking? Symptoms of hyperactivity and impulsivity are more prevalent in males and are more severe in early childhood. Many children with ADHD also experience secondary problems, which may include academic problems and problems with their peers (University of Illinois, n.d.). easily distracted, have difficulty concentrating, become bored easily, have no organizational skills, or simply fail to complete or turn in homework.
