Los Angeles is a city with a large population made up of a considerable number of immigrants. A wide range of immigrants from all over the world have settled in Los Angeles, making it one of the most diverse cities in this country. Many Los Angeles citizens have strong arguments about whether or not immigration reform is beneficial or whether it will harm the city and its residents. The issue of immigration is of great importance because it is a problem that Los Angeles has been experiencing for several years and will continue for many more to come if no action is taken. Any changes made regarding immigration will affect people in Los Angeles one way or another, regardless of what perspective they may hold on the topic, because money and community are involved in the event of any change. The city of Los Angeles is no stranger to the immigration issue, which requires a solution through the process of immigration reform that strengthens its constitutional value through the process of establishing citizenship and amnesty. Immigration reforms will develop a political policy that will improve, modify and change our current immigration policy. It is essential and beneficial to the City of Los Angeles to achieve immigration reform that will benefit families by providing broader, equal, and fairer opportunities as it provides the city with economic growth. It is estimated that “approximately 1 million unauthorized immigrants” in Los Angeles” (Capp and Fortuny) out of a population of nine million reside in the city (US Census Bureau).
