IntroductionTechnology is becoming more and more prevalent in society. The concept of technology is a reality that has pervaded not only our daily lives but our mere state of existence. Technology has influenced every aspect of society. There is no doubt that technology has great potential to improve the way people learn, and whether they are ready or not, technology is impacting education. Educational Technology Since the integration of educational technology there has been a dramatic shift in most of the paradigms upon which traditional learning exists. The concept of incorporating technology with education has gained widespread attention. The effective use of educational technology is critical to solving numerous educational challenges. Educational technology can help us meet the needs of a diverse student population and better prepare our students for lifelong learning. Learning Theories Learning theories have a great influence on teaching and learning in our schools. They influence learning outcomes, classroom management practices, and the role of the educator. Learning theories are extremely significant as they frame the student's classroom experience; guide the teacher in establishing classroom interactions, technology applications, and classroom activities. Cognitive Learning Theory According to cognitive learning theory, learning is viewed as the creation of symbolic mental constructions that involve active mental processing on the part of the learner. Cognitive learning theory has always focused on how students process information and implementing the best instructional strategies that educators can use to promote students' understanding of the material. Constructivist learning theory...... middle of paper ...... what we Tomorrow's need is more important than what we know today. As our students' knowledge continues to grow and evolve, access to what is needed is more important than what the student currently has. The field of education has been slow to recognize both the impact of new learning tools and environmental changes in what it means to learn.
