The mission of these centers is to “Provide a safe and healthy environment with a variety of programs that meet the needs of the community.” Each of these community centers provides three primary service areas: health, fitness and wellness; educational and character development; and cultural arts and expressions. They also all offer a variety of accessible areas to the community. These areas are a gym, game room, meeting rooms, art studio and kitchen. There are supervised youth sports teams; as well as adult sports teams. Festive events are held in the centers every year. Many community centers also offer water activities, homework assistance, lunch programs for seniors, outdoor sports fields, walking trails, playgrounds and fitness centers. Many community centers also have partnerships with organizations such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, AARP and neighborhood associations.
