1. IntroductionIn this report, I am trying to present my role set through analyzing a new strategy to bring about change in my institution. The City of London College is a center approved by several UK universities, e.g. University of Greenwich, Birmingham City University and University of Wales. We are organizing university programs for foreign students. We have been collaborating with the UoG/Computer Science and Mathematics school since 2003, obtaining a 1-year degree (Hons) in Computer Science. The performance of our students until 2007 was reasonable, but from 2008 to now the number of students is increasing but the performance is decreasing gradually. Other administrative problems make students and the university partners dissatisfied with the service provided in the college. We are all certain that the problem exists and we must resolve it as soon as possible. My role is to ensure academic quality as well as teaching different subjects on the course. Managing change is a very challenging task, especially when you are new to the institution. I have been working in my institution since 2009, any suggestion to make changes requires thorough planning and patience to implement. The first stage was to understand the work environment, the applicable policy, the key decision maker and the individuals who have the power to influence. The second phase which is much more difficult because I have to identify the problem. Since the stakeholders are different, including students, academic staff, administrative staff, higher education agencies, partner universities, I spent a lot of time identifying the roots of the real problem. After a while, I planned with the management to develop a new strategy related to the need to apply high academic standards in the institution with the aim of... in the middle of the document... an investigation by reading the course text, course readings and other references on how to manage change in higher education institutions. In conclusion, making change will be a very difficult task if key stakeholders are against it, as is the case with my institution. Works Cited Biggs J.
