Today is an age of information explosion. In recent years, many newly invented technological devices and software are now tightly integrated into our daily lives. Today, people can search for almost any type of information, make friends, communicate with others, and express themselves with the simple touch of a button on a device we usually keep close at hand. “The widespread use of technology is changing the way we work, learn and communicate, even the way we carry out our daily activities.” (Seifer and Mihalynuk) These devices not only benefit our livelihoods and increase our happiness, but are also an integral part of the advancement of education, technology, development, and overall human evolution. Today's children, growing up in this age of information explosion, will undoubtedly reap such benefits and, in turn, advance society to a better generation. In the United States, using a smartphone or tablet has been an unstoppable trend. According to the Pew Internet report, in the United States, 56% of the entire adult population uses smartphones, 35% own a cell phone, which is not a smartphone, and only 9% do not own any cell phones (Smith). At the same time, tablet computers have grown significantly since 2010, especially with the advent of Windows 8. Pew Internet shows that 34% of the US adult population owns a tablet computer, a growth of more than 30% in three countries. years (Zickuhr). Although these reports were based on the adult population, many children own mobile devices. Such a device will provide them with accessibility to surf the Internet, listen to music, watch videos, play games both instantly and in unlimited quantities.
