Employment or Labor Laws were developed to facilitate smooth relationship between employers and employees. Labor laws provide rules and regulations that should govern both the employer and employees in their workplaces. Employment laws discuss issues related to child labor, wages and salaries, retirement, working conditions, compensation, incentives, and employment benefits, among others. The main objective is to ensure that the employer does not exploit the employee and, on the other hand, that the employee honors the terms and conditions of employment presented by the employer. The Mckee Reids Heritage Homes verse case is a good example of the problems associated with employment law. McKee was a 64-year-old sales manager at her company Nu Home Consulting Services. Through this business McKee sold some homes on behalf of Reids Heritage Homes, the defendant. McKee subsequently entered into a sales and advertising agreement with Reids Heritage Homes on behalf of Nu Home Consulting Services. In this deal Reids Heritage Homes was to provide sixty-nine homes for Nu Home Consulting Services to sell for a fixed commission. Reids Heritage Homes continued to supply Nu Home Consulting Services with homes for sale but a third party ran the listing. Reids Heritage Homes appointed McKee as Sales Director and as the business expanded McKee took on sales agents to assist her. Reids Heritage Homes paid a commission to Nu Home Consulting Services on the number of homes sold. Nu home used part of the commission to pay sales agents. Reids Heritage Homes later hired a new director of corporate sales and took McKee and the sales agents on as mere employees. The corporate sales manager was supposed to provide McKee...... half of the paper...... employees. ReferencesBlalkle Heenan.
