A rejected member of society. An outcast. This definition is what the movie was about. A 17-year-old African American girl slowly begins to embrace her identity as a lesbian, but this begins to bring tension in her family as both of her parents do not accept her choice and she feels like an outcast. The film gives people a better understanding of what it feels like to be alone and rejected, but shows that sometimes you get what you want and sometimes you don't, but you always need to move.
