“You are never too old to wish on a star,” said Walt Disney. Walter Elias Disney is a very well-known man. He built the famous Disney Land and Disney World theme parks/resorts. Walt was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois, to his parents Elias and Flora Disney. He grew up and became an animator, cartoonist, producer, director, screenwriter, entrepreneur and voice actor. Walt Disney once said, “If you can dream it, you can make it happen. Always remember that this whole thing started with a dream and a mouse. Walt Disney turned his dreams into reality by creating films and cartoons that America will never forget. The story behind the Disney Land and Disney World theme parks is ordinary. But the impact theme parks have had on America is extraordinary. One day, Walt Disney was sitting on a bench in an amusement park and watching his daughters. As he looked around the park, he saw the children having fun and laughing, but he also noticed that the adults had nothing to do. They were bored and anxious to go home. Even Walt Disney noticed how dirty the park was. He started dreaming about what his own theme park would be like. Walt Disney once said, “What this country really needs is an amusement park that families can take their kids to. They've gotten so carefree with a lot of questionable characters running around, and they're not so safe. I'm not well kept. I want to have a place that's as clean as anything could ever be, and all the people who live there are first class citizens and treated like guests." During World War II, Walt Disney made many cartoons and films . With characters like Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Bambi and many others, Walt Disney created propaganda cartoons to tell Americans about Hitler... the center of paper... democracy. After hearing this story, Hans becomes fascinated with Hitler. Later in the film, Hans becomes seriously ill, almost to the point of having to go to a death camp. Under his mother's care, Hans recovers and continues his education, where all the students wear Hitlerjugend uniforms and learn about Hitler. Hans goes on and takes part in book burning and many things like that. The film was made to tell others how children in Nazi Germany are transformed into ruthless soldiers. The man, who helped lift so many spirits, died as a Congregationalist Christian on December 15, 1966, in Burbank, California, of lung cancer. He was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. Thirty years before he died, Walt Disney invented the multiplane camera in 1936. He subsequently made thirty-one films on his own, starting with Snow White and the Disney Film.
