When discussing the meaning of gender identity, each person has a different view and perception. In most cases, these views are instilled in them throughout childhood, whether they are fully aware of it or not. As a result, some children feel forced to conform to stereotypical gender roles and identities defined by society. For me, however, this has never been a problem. The numerous experiences I faced during my childhood played a significant and determining role in the formation of my gender identity. As a child, my favorite toys were dolls and stuffed animals, and my parents would often find me hosting tea parties or playing at home. Even though my parents provided me with cars and other gender-neutral toys, I was always drawn to dolls and other stereotypical girl toys. I was the first and only child for seven years, so I never had anything else to compare myself to. Perhaps if I had grown up surrounded by toys and objects used by an older brother, my perception towards dolls and the color purple would have been different. When I was younger...
