Not everyone will like you, in fact many will hate you for no reason because they know nothing about you other than your appearance. This is the case with many stories such as Maya Angelou's Graduation, Judith Cofer's The Myth of a Latina Woman, and Martin Luther King Jr.'s Letter from Birmingham Jail. To any reasonable person these stories would seem very depressing because of the way in which these people are treated. and most of the time they receive this treatment because they are too afraid to speak out. Although some people are unfairly treated as inferior, knowing this does not help stop it, only action can eliminate the prejudice and discrimination faced by these people.
