Baroque was a period from 1600 to 1750. In this period, people of different classes and different religions fought each other for interests, and then the Baroque style was created. “Baroque” – this word has several explanations. One of the explanations comes from Spain: “Barroco”, means imperfect pearl. One is by an Italian: Charles de Brosses. He said that barroco comes from "Logic", which means the description of the syllogism. In this era, Baroque architecture meant lavish and exaggerated. Generally it happened in churches because they wanted to show their power and how rich they are. This style emphasizes color, light and sculpture. They have a strong and shocking verve. In the church, they used the circular nave to replace the narrow nave. Composers of this era created many pieces of music, such as the opera, cantata, sonata, suite, fugue, romanesque, and oratorio. They believed that music was a communication tool and that it allowed people to feel what they felt. Continuo, Bass ostinato, Concertato medio, Improvisation and counterpoint came from the Baroque era. The famous piece was Canon, written by Johann Pachelbel. Canon isn't the name of a piece, it's a style of module. To create this piece he used the continuous bass and the double bass. The harpsichord was the important instrument in this period. It can be a solo instrument or an accompaniment instrument. Composers of this era added more seasoning notes to make the music more deluxe. Strong rhythm, short and moving melody were the representative style of this period. Polyphony was still important. At the same time, tonic music has developed very well. Music was usually played for nobles and played in salons or music halls. Anyone can buy tickets, but they are still rare compared to nobles. Choir music played in church, everyone can be there to watch and listen. In this period, contrasting effects were a musical style. Large sounds suddenly turn into small sounds. Normally he showed up at the big concert. The Concerto Grosso is the model before the concert. The proportion of the orchestra was not fully developed until the Classical period. George Friedrich Handel was born on February 23, 1685. He was an English composer because he was born in Germany but moved to London until his death. He died in England and was buried in Westminster Abbey. Many English people are so proud of Handel. He composed over forty operas, twenty-nine oratorios, more than 120 cantatas, many arias and sixteen organ concertos. Many famous pieces were created in England.
