Applied Research Experimental and descriptive research designs, statistics, and inferences in psychological contexts and methods differ in many ways but have similar qualities. All psychological research follows ethical codes and regulations. Each type of experiment discussed contains similarities and differences. The importance of each research method to individuals and societies varies depending on the need addressed in creating the project. Beneficial interventions and treatments are developed from the cause and effect of many research projects. Validity concerns become a vital part of every research project. The use of descriptive and inferential statistics to maintain accuracy checks usually involves the use of an analysis of variance (ANOVA) with respect to research studies according to Shaughnessy, Zechmeister, and Zechmeister (2009). ANOVA clarifies whether the independent variable showed an effect on the dependent variable through inferential statistical tests. Data and information in qualitative and quantitative psychological research can be analyzed and measured using ANOVA. This paper follows a discussion of descriptive and inferential statistics, single-case study design, small-N study design, real experiment design, and quasi-experimental design. Descriptive and Inferential Statistics Research data are described in both descriptive and statistical formats when used for accuracy inferences in research projects. Descriptive statistics provide a graphical or numerical portrait of the research data being analyzed. Inferential statistics provide an indication of the overall judgment or perception of the outcome inferred from the research comparison. Inferential statistical methods use both des... half of the paper... and design for research and in some cases has advantages over other methods. It all depends on the research project. Conclusion In conclusion, all research methods and data analysis are extremely important steps to ensure the quality of research results. The treatments and interventions that evolve from research could not have validity and reliability without all the experimental methods. The research preparation and data analysis phases play just as important a role as the research itself. Similarities and differences are found among all research design methods. Ethics in research provides valid and reliable results for individuals and societies. ReferencesShaughnessy, J. J., Zechmeister, E. B., & Zechmeister, J. S. (2009).
