The journal was discussed on cultural values and decision making in China. The paper was discussed by 22 senior executives of Chinese multinationals involved in doing business in China. They were using five different cultural dimensions of the Hofstede and Hofstede and Bond Scheme approaches in discussing and providing information. Introduction According to the article, several journalists stated that cultural values relate to the growth of globalization, cultural sensitivity will deal with the global complexities involved in conducting business in host countries are expanding. Culture also defined in terms of decision making and power of people that relate to political and economic issues of the country. According to the journalist, culture can influence management decisions. Cultural sensitivity can make managers understand their ability to put themselves in the perspective of another people living in a very different culture. International managers can understand the nature, size and variables of a specific culture and how these influence work and organizational processes. Furthermore, international managers through cultural awareness are able to develop appropriate policies and can determine how to plan, organize and control in a specific international organization since they have always neglected cultural awareness in terms of international operations. Decision making was influenced by social obligations and relationships based on harmony, cooperation, loyalty, reciprocity, “guanxi”, patience, risk avoidance and each individual was aware of their position in society. Knowledge of cultural influences can make managers more effective in dealing with their subordinates, colleagues, and negotiating partners in foreign countries. But at the same time it will help managers at home and in overseas operations to predict the macro-environmental factors that can affect an international company. The most important is the political one which in China is one of the factors that influence the lives of Chinese people.
