Inspirational Women in History The role of women throughout humanity has been a dynamic and ever-evolving role, characterized by a constant struggle for equality and respect with the male counterpart. Hatshepsut, the pharaoh of ancient Egypt conquered her brothers for access to the throne! Cleopatra, a Hollywood phenomenon, actually collaborated with Caesar of Rome and led her land to great prosperity. Joan of Arc, who continually inspires literature and works of art today, began as a peasant in France. At the young age of sixteen he became commander of the French army. All three of these women took very different paths to their positions of authority. Yet, one of the most important strands of similarity between them stems from the place of confusion and chaos their countries were facing. The struggle that women today face regarding their physical appearance is not a new one. Each of these women, in fact, fought against society's expectations regarding their physical appearance and clothing. And finally, the most memorable aspect of each story, each of these women faced epic climaxes that marked their place in history. A common thread running through the extraordinary stories of these three legendary women is the state of conflict and confusion in which their homelands found themselves. before their rise to leadership. Hatshepsut's pursuit of power went against all conventions and expectations of her time. Raised in a royal family, Hatshepsut was the sole heir to the throne, as the only daughter of Thutmose I. Due to her royal lineage; she was expected to rule as queen. Her father's early death forced her to become queen at the age of 12. Then she "married her half-brother Thutmose II" ("Hatshe...... center of card...... breaking courage, determination and vigor. Hatshepsut, Cleopatra and Joan paved the way for the women of history They broke down boundaries and borders that we still struggle to face today. As a future educator, I hope to inspire my young students to look to these women for inspiration and encouragement, rather than today's celebrities inspiration each of their stories. I hope to live a life marked by the zest of Hatshepsut, who was not afraid to become a Pharaoh despite the doubts of all those around her. I intend to find the balance between femininity and strength as she did so masterfully Cleopatra, I will be a force to be reckoned with, like Joan strength and courage to overcome the challenges before me. The strength of women is timeless.
