Jordan Belfort is the infamous 1990s stockbroker who saw himself earning fifty million dollars a year by running a boiler room of penny stocks from his stock company brokerage Stratton Oakmont, Inc.. Corrupted by drugs, money and sex, he went from being an innocent twenty-two year old on the edge of a new life to manipulating the system in his infamous "pump and dump" scheme. Being a stock swindler, he motivated his young brokers through crazy presentations to annoy them while defrauding investors with fake stock sales. Towards the end of this tale of debauchery he was found guilty of securities fraud and money laundering for which he was sentenced to twenty-two months in prison and to pay restitution of two hundred million dollars to all the defrauded stock buyers of his brokerage firm (A&E Networks Television ). Although his lavish spending and fast-paced lifestyle were consumed by excessive greed, he displayed both positive and negative aspects of business communications. Before he was cultivated with cocaine and prostitutes as the key to success on Wall Street, Jordan Belfort demonstrated the incontrovertible benefits of positive business. communications. One of these concerns the effectiveness of telephone correspondence with customers. Especially for stockbrokers, having a phone conversation is crucial when trying to sell a stock to a potential investor. Jordan Belfort began his process with a prospect by stating his name, where he was from and what he had to offer. This was a method of gaining the trust of a customer he didn't know.
