Topic > Unlikely Love in Pride and Prejudice - 1552

Many times, when we see a person for the first time, we automatically judge them, whether we realize it or not. In Pride and Prejudice, this is exactly the situation between the two main characters. Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy have very different families, lifestyles and attitudes. They both formed their opinions about each other rather quickly and this really hindered the start of their relationship. In our life this happens many times because we judge first without even knowing the person. Fortunately for Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy, even though they despised each other, time eventually changed their minds and hearts, resulting in an unimaginable love story. Elizabeth Bennett is not an easy person and she definitely has a mind of her own. She is an intelligent woman who hides nothing. In many situations this can be a positive or negative choice. In this book, it really seems to be both when it comes to Mr. Darcy. Elizabeth can also be described as her father's favorite and the second daughter of the Bennett family. His family was a very interesting group of people. They were different from each other in a very unique way. Mr. Bennett was quite laid back and many times tried to stay out of all the drama that was going on. It also seemed that even though he was very different from the rest of the family, he enjoyed taunting his wife and daughters. He did this especially when it came to situations that seemed really important to women. Overall, he was very caring and loving towards Elizabeth and just wanted to make sure she was making the right choices. Mrs. Bennett was definitely not the smartest in the family. She could be described as a worrier, always worried about everything. It seemed like his number one goal... middle of paper... it was a shock to everyone. They didn't seem to like each other and were now engaged. After a bit of explaining, they celebrated, and it was a joyous occasion. We can learn from this book that we should not judge people by our first impression of them. This is a fact in real life and Pride and Prejudice also shows a clear example of why. If Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy had remained true to their first impressions, this chance at true love would never have happened. It was easy to take Elizabeth's side and see Mr. Darcy as a worthless idiot. Even though there were reasons why he acted that way, it wasn't excusable, but he really had a big heart. Even though Elizabeth didn't realize it at first, in the end she really opened her heart to him and made this book a true love story. Works Cited Jane Austen Pride and Prejudice
