Since the early 19th century, exercise has been a major focus for health gurus around the world. The health benefits of regular exercise are universally known. Many of which will be explored later in the paper. However, the early 1960s ushered in a new era of personal fitness in a revolutionary way. It supposedly introduced an easier way to get into shape without killing yourself by constantly exercising or wasting time and money at the gym. This was obviously the widespread marketing of the diet. People all over the world have started abandoning local gyms because of this revolutionary new way to lose weight and get fit. Most people didn't realize that it was possible to not only lose weight, but also burn fat simply by changing your diet. Since the commercialization of the diet, there has been an ongoing debate about which type of personal fitness method is the most effective. The opinions of many experts are divided between exercise and diet, and some argue that a combination of both is the most beneficial for health. Both diet and exercise have their health benefits, many of which are the same. Regardless, the debate over which form of fitness is the most effective, between exercise and diet, still rages today. When talking about physical fitness, it is very important to discuss the benefits of regular exercise, both mental and physical. There are so many benefits of each that they need separate paragraphs.
