However, child slaves continue to be owned due to indentures, poverty, and fraud. Child slaves are trapped, controlled, and dehumanized just as in the stories of history. Child labor slavery in agriculture can be ended if the government gets involved, if people boycott products produced by child labor, and if an education system is established where children work. Definition Child labor Slavery in agriculture is work that harms children and/or prevents them from attending school, says the International Labor Organization. However, child labor is full-time work at a young age, work that hinders physical and social status, and work that involves too much responsibility for a child. Statistics Globally, 61% of child laborers work in the agricultural sector. Child labor slaves in agriculture range from five to seventeen years old. Child labor in agriculture is dangerous for minors. Approximately 59% of children work in these dangerous situations. According to the International Labor Organization, 61% of children are agricultural slaves in Asia, 32% in Africa and 7% in Latin America.
