Tourism in Egypt lags behind in poor marketing conditions because marketing campaigns are not professional and do not have the ability to study and understand the tourism target market. Due to poor market conditions, the tourism sector needs strong investigations and efforts to increase financial support to the country. Amani El-Torgoman, president of travel company Travco, said: “To reinvigorate tourism it is necessary to convene the Supreme Tourism Council and reconsider marketing efforts and investment incentives.” The tourism sector needs financial incentives to achieve a period of stability in the tourism sector. Another problem is that tourists are deceived by Egyptians when they arrive in Egypt. Therefore, tourists have a bad impression of dishonesty towards the Egyptian people and are afraid to face it. Also, there are many cases of sexual harassment happened to many tourists, so they go back to their country and never come back. An incident happened in Sharm El-Sheik where a British woman was raped by the security guard in a five-star hotel. The victim said: “The guard was driving me back to the hotel when he allegedly dragged me into my bedroom and subjected me to a brutal assault.” As a result, the victim left Egypt and the British ministry reported the sexual assault. These incidents make tourists feel unsafe, so anyone who does unethical actions should be fired and sued.
