“Criminal law is the body of laws that relates to crime.” (Wikipedia, 2014) This law encompasses different aspects of our government and the ways used to regulate them. Maintaining peace and public order is one aspect. Law enforcement also tries to maintain good public conduct. Anyone who endangers public safety violates this law. Punishment is used in various ways to discipline any person who breaks these laws. There are four main sources used in criminal law today: • Constitutional law – body of legislation comprising guidelines and rules used to ensure the correct meaning of the constitution. This law also regulates actions established by the United States Constitution. (Wikipedia, 2014)• Administrative law – legal body consisting of the creation and establishment of administrative agencies. The rules, responsibilities, regulations and powers used by these agencies are also developed under this Act. Agencies such as the Social Security Administration and Welfare Commissions are two agencies included in this law. Usually, the creations of these agencies were made to provide benefits to the applicants. (School, Administrative Law) • Statutory Law: This body of law is critical to the safety of the public. The way our different governing bodies work and many of the laws within them are based on the above law. From this law comes the scheme used for today's society and the way in which justice is maintained.
