The book Into The Wild, written by Jon Krakauer, tells the story of Chris McCandless, a young man who has abandoned his life in search of something more meaningful than a materialistic society. In 1992, Chris donated his savings of $25,000 to charity, abandoned his car and most of his belongings, and burned all his money to pursue his dream. Chris' legacy was to live simply, find his purpose and chase his dreams. Chris McCandless' decision to uproot his life and hitchhike to Alaska encouraged other young adults to chase their dreams. Neal Karlinksy illustrates the love Chris had for nature in the passage: "He was intoxicated by nature and the idea of ​​a great adventure in Alaska: surviving in the forest totally alone." This passage shows appreciation for the meaning of following your dreams. Despite everything Chris had accomplished, he knew something was missing and it resonated deeply in his soul. It is refreshing to find that not all young people focus on materialistic success.
