Our sustainable urban area model is made up of several interacting parts, each of which relies on one another to successfully transport the population to whatever destination they have in mind. The first is a system of trains located outside the city itself that will allow long-distance travel for both goods and people. The city center area will have very few cars because our autonomous electric cars will be used mainly to connect these stations and other residences with the center of the urban area. Since this setup leaves the city with a lack of surface transportation, the underground metro will be forced to pick up all the extra commuters who want to travel a considerable distance within the city limits. However, it remains such a simple core system that many often overlook it. One of the first things almost every person learns to do as a child is the skill we take for granted almost every day: walking. This relatively simple but essential method was almost always the first priority when building cities before the modern era, all but guaranteeing a road system and urban network that made it easy to walk to almost anywhere you needed to get to. Despite the fact that these urban planners were dealing with a much smaller population and scale, their ability to create a truly walkable urban environment is something that modern humans can only marvel at, even with the most advanced technology. With the invention of the automobile, people were able to quickly transport themselves and the goods they transported at speeds that our ancestors could only dream of. But even with all the positives they brought with them, cars are responsible... middle of paper... and a modern city street is more than worth it. With a combination of all three major topics mentioned upfront, our city will provide the blueprint for others to create their own sustainable transportation systems. Autonomous vehicles, improved and more popular public transportation, and pedestrian-only sections of the city would all share the burden of providing a reliable transportation option for all of our citizens. The lifeblood of our city will be able to stand the test of time, using renewable energy and reducing pollution levels at every step. Trade and human interaction will thrive.
