On March 14, 1876, Hermann Einstein and Pauline Einstein gave birth to their son Albert Einstein. He was born in Ulm, Württemberg, Germany and soon moved to Munich, Germany. He had a sister and her name was Maria. As a child Albert had a lot of trouble speaking and his parents even helped him with private tutors. As a child he studied at a Catholic school for a few years, then transferred to Luitpold Gymnasium. Albert Einstein enrolled in the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School in 1896. This school was located in Zurich, Switzerland. At that school he was preparing to become a physics and mathematics teacher. When he was granted Swiss citizenship, he was unable to find a teaching job when he graduated. Since he could not find work as a teacher, he became a technical assistant at a Patent Office. While working there he earned his medical degree. Over the years he has held numerous teaching positions as a professor. in 1909 he became Extraordinary Professor in Zurich Switzerland.
