“No civilization can survive the time when its agricultural economy is destroyed,” by Lloyd Noble. This quote refers to what people want to start doing in the agricultural field. When it comes to adding robots to something as important as agriculture, we know that it will start to be destroyed because not only will it stop being harvested fresh, but more importantly it will put people out of work. In the book The World is Flat by Thomas L. Friedman explains how our world is advancing in terms of jobs and technology. It also explains how middle jobs will disappear due to the way “robots” will do the work we once did. Not only will our jobs be taken away by robots, but also by people from other countries. Friedman explains how jobs can become “untouchable” this will help people not lose their jobs because of all the advantages they will have; this will lead to more jobs being opened or created. In the Yakima Valley we are known for the fresh fruits and vegetables we harvest, but above all for the care with which they are cared for. Agriculture plays an important role in Yakima because it helps us create more jobs, but if they added agribots to the equation all the freshly harvested fruits and vegetables would disappear. Even though some people might agree that having agribot is the best solution because it will be cheaper for farmers, they still don't see that having agribot will stop the work from being new. They don't see that people who work in the agricultural field are better at being excellent collaborators, explainers and environmental people. When it comes to being cheaper, people go to great lengths to make that happen. Just like in agriculture, people want to start adding agribots because... middle of paper... they become great collaborators, great explainers and will be our greens. Even though people think it will be a good investment when it comes to agribot because it will be cheaper for farmers, but in all honesty when it comes to healthy eating we can't put a price on it. With robots taking care of all the food harvesting we will no longer know what is safe, as my parents say: "The cheapest things end up costing more." So are we willing to risk our health?
