Building Love Over LiesAdrian was leaving Chili's with his girlfriend, Tammy. He opened the second pair of doors to exit the factory. The door needed an extra push as the day was extremely windy. As they left, she entered. Immediately, their eyes met as they stood in the doors and stared at each other. Adrian's heart could have stopped. Eva Jones looked exactly the same as he remembered her five years ago. The pastel blue sundress with matching blue sandals complimented her flawless gingerbread skin. Her midnight hair was still long enough to twist into a barrette. The shock in her dark eyes was evident: she was as surprised as he was to see him. Eva couldn't believe the sight before her, Adrian Taylor. Now, at the age of thirty, he was about six feet tall and looked as handsome as she remembered him. His golden hair was cut a little shorter and his sea green eyes confirmed that he still remembered her as his brow was slightly furrowed. It won't go well. What felt like hours of staring at each other, the sound of Tammy clearing her throat broke the momentary trance of a few seconds. Adrian smiled faintly and made introductions. "Hi Eve." "Hi, Adrian." Adrian turned to Tammy and smiled at her, "Tammy, this is Eva, we went to college together. Eva, this is my girlfriend, Tammy." Eva offered her left hand to shake; Tammy made a mistake trying to shake her hand with his right hand, but immediately shook her hand with his left. As the women greeted politely, Eva could feel Adrian's attention burning her. “Mom, I'm hungry. Is Grandma inside waiting for us?" An angelic voice spoke. Adrian looked down to Eva's right... to the center of the paper... back, he wondered what her face must have looked like when a tall, muscular man a dark-haired Caucasian opened the front door. He stared intently at Adrian behind the storm door. His dark blue eyes pierced fear into him, and his nerves were about to take flight. “Sorry, I must have got the wrong address.” Adrian apologized. “Are you looking for Eva?” Adrian frowned. “Yes, are you?” “Julian, her husband.” “Oh my God. She… she never told me she was married! As soon as the words left her mouth, she regretted it. She'd confessed something she shouldn't have said if they were just friends What Adrian would like is to get his ass kicked all over the lawn. “I know. We're working things out and we'd appreciate it if you left her alone,” Julian said. “Sure. No problem.” Adrian was so stunned; he didn't even remember coming home.
