Although the exact cause of Mozart's death was uncertain because he suffered from bipolar disorder and depression which could not be effectively monitored, rumors emerged that he was poisoned by the Italian composer Antonio Salieri , through jealousy or the rheumatic fever that constantly disturbed his life, had finally gained the upper hand. Miraculously, not long before his death, Mozart showed true dedication to his music by premiering his opera The Magic Flute before falling seriously bedridden. This work will be reproduced and re-evaluated for many years. In Metro Opera's 2006 reproduction of Mozart's The Magic Flute, Mozart's musical genius was truly captured. This work featured very bright and colorful lighting, which in one newspaper article was described as "the forces of light absolutely extinguish the darkness" (Tommasini,2010), simply saying that with so much light throughout the work that there was no possibility of obscurity. The scenery for The Magic Flute was very dramatic, so the bright, detailed glamor of the stage complemented the over-the-top costumes seen everywhere.
