Architecture practiceWhat did I know about my dreamI love traveling and have traveled a lot in recent years. I particularly like visiting metropolises where skyscrapers have been erected. Every hour of the day seems to produce some change in the magical hues and shapes of these buildings. One of my favorite things to do is watch the glittering city rise into the red horizons in the distance. In fact, what I like are not only skyscrapers, but all kinds of building structures such as the Sydney Opera House, the World Trade Center (what a shame it was torn down by terrorists!), and the Great Wall. But these buildings do not arise spontaneously from the earth; someone conceived the big ideas for these shows. Yes, architects! They are the creators of these “giants” and the inspiration of the architects has filled the buildings with liveliness. Only a couple of months ago I started seriously considering the possibility of becoming an architect. One day I turned on the TV and switched to the Discovery Channel, the experts on the TV were explaining the structure of the Gold Gate Bridge in San Francisco. The show captured my interest and my eyes were mesmerized by the screen. I have always enjoyed building things since I was young, but I had never seen a scientific documentary about a specific building structure before. That day my interest in architecture was born. The purpose of this I-Search document is to find out if a career in architecture is right for me. I already knew that an architect must be creative and that he must be capable of many mathematical and scientific calculations. However I want to delve deeper, I want to know what exactly an architect does and what are his skills... halfway... during high school time and strive to achieve this by taking some relevant information classes. It seems to me that there are more questions to be answered as a result of this research, but I am sure they will be answered through further study and research. Even if I am not yet sure about my future career, the profession of architect is definitely in my consideration. In short, I really enjoyed the research process and it will help me tremendously.
