The Use of E-Commerce in Hotel Industry As in today's era, every sector is prospering at a high pace, be it industry, education, etc. One of them is the hotel industry, which is one of the growing sectors for India in today's time. It is an employment generator and one of the foreign exchange for the country as well as being an economic activity that helps local and foreign exchange for the country. It is one of the sectors which has a large contribution to the GDP (gross domestic product) of the country, it received Rs. 2.17 trillion or you can also say that about 2% of the GDP. In the following study “Exploring the Determinants of E-Commerce Usage in the Hotel Industry in Thailand: An Empirical Study” conducted by Pongsak Hoontrakul and Sunil Sahadev in the following study they conducted a study with 95 hotels in different places in Thailand and according to them the use of e-commerce is now very famous as according to them hotels which are established in less developed places use internet more than hotels which are established in well developed places a developed area as hotels in well developed areas have a network well collection and availability of travel wholesalers and travel agents and they can afford to ignore internet usage to a certain extent but the scenario is different in underdeveloped places as they don't have many choices and the market is not so great to be able to have agents or any other choice. The new establishment is more likely to use the Internet more than the old establishment and it has also been seen that the use of ICT resources has also brought positive value to the hotels and it has also been found that hotels using ICT rely heavily on the e-commerce. Lack of security:- a customer always has a fear that the payment made by him may go to a fake guy as nowadays there are many websites, mails where a person comes across but not all mails or websites they could be authentic, it can also be a fake who just wants to exploit.5. Difference in thinking: - while preparing a website the hotel only thinks about ways to attract customers and how it can exploit the customer while a customer wants to see only those hotels where he can choose according to his need.6. Not everyone can benefit from it: - not all hotels can benefit from e-commerce as some small hotels do not have enough financing to afford this type of services for their benefit.
