"What Your Credit Card Company Knows About You" was written by Charles Duhigg and first appeared in the issue of May 17, 2009 by the New York Times. In the article Duhigg explains how and why credit card companies are changing their business plans. Companies no longer give out credit cards and hope that cardholders who consistently pay dues will compensate cardholders who don't pay dues. Today, companies focus more on understanding the life and psyche of cardholders to make more profits. Duhigg explains that companies began to change their plans when math wizards discovered that the biggest profits came not from cardholders who paid their bills, but rather from cardholders who never paid the full amount .
