Many different types of law such as civil law, administrative law, jurisprudence, criminal law, etc. are examined in this chapter. I will focus on the essence of the concept of crime in the variants of the law. While many focus on the three main principles of crime, namely the criminal act, the mental state, and a combination of both, there are five others that are equally important. These five are labeled causation, resulting harm, principles of legality, principles of punishment, and necessary circumstances. Criminal act, also known as actus reus, means "an act in violation of the law, a guilty act." There are many different versions of violations that can occur as a result of a crime. The categories are crimes, misdemeanors, misdemeanors, treason and espionage, and rough crimes. All this entails different penalties based on the seriousness of the crime committed. Mens Rea, (second general component of the crime, page 124) the state of mind that accompanies a criminal act, is also thought of as a guilty mind. To know whether a person's state of mind during a criminal act was intentional or not, we should observe the four levels that can distinguish mens rea. This consists of intentional, knowing, reckless and negligent. Were they intentionally trying to commit the crime knowing the consequences? Knowledge brings about awareness that proclaims that a person should know whether what he is about to do is right or wrong. If a person doesn't see the difference, they could be considered legally insane. A combination of Actus Reus and Mens Rea can lead to a very deadly outcome where punishment may not apply under normal circumstances. For example, Jeffr...... middle of paper ......d that no crime occurred. Finally, we should point out something we disagree with. The author of this chapter has laid out the facts about our justice system and the steps needed to catch, convict and prosecute a criminal. Stories like those of a church's sacrificial exercises in Miami some thirty years ago were striking examples of how the court must comply. Even though people were against chickens being thrown under trees, the Supreme Court noted that saying they could not participate in these events constituted discrimination against their religion. All the measures he previously indicated in the chapter have been taken to handle this case. The main point is that there are multiple principles of criminality but they mainly revolve around the importance of actus reus, mens rea or a combination of both.
