The effects of hazing on students are overwhelming and become very dangerous at times, but they can also be very mild, but still leave an impact on someone. Hazing has a variety of similar effects as bullying but has some things that differentiate the two. “Most say hazing is any action or situation, with or without the consent of the participants, that recklessly, intentionally or unintentionally endangers the mental health, physical health or academic safety of a student.” It can start out as something so simple and then turn into a disaster. This is most commonly used in college as a ritual requirement or simply as something to embarrass the next freshman. “Regardless of consent, rituals require people to engage in physically and psychologically stressful activities.” This could happen to new members involved in a fraternity or someone who wants to get involved in a club. “Some examples include physical injury, assault or battery, kidnapping or detention, intentional exposure to risk of mental or emotional harm.” However, hazing doesn't just happen in college, it has happened
