In many ways, a supervisor is like a coach, and to avoid criminal and civil litigation against the individual officer, the supervisor himself, and the organization, a supervisor must be in able to identify the weaknesses, strengths, and personal goals of each of their officers (More & Miller, 2015). There is no perfect management system that handles use-of-force incidents, and it is the supervisor's responsibility to educate, advise, and monitor the actions of their subordinates. The police and corrections department must understand the strategic importance of innovation to better serve the community, prevent recidivism, and instill equitable service delivery. Innovation is also a strategy to reshape and redefine an economy
