The problem of intensive farming will always remain a problem, but there is a big misunderstanding there too. People may be willing to participate in Meatless Monday, but what they don't realize is that the population will reach approximately 9 billion by 2050 and animal agriculture is absolutely necessary. Josh Balk, a member of the Humane Society of the United States, states that “current levels of meat consumption in the United States support inhumane practices on factory farms and push small family farmers out of business. Eating less meat is better for animals, creates less waste and pollution, and places more value on humane and sustainable agriculture (2014).” This is a hoax as the production level will not decrease as well as slaughter rates will remain the same.
