There are many miracles that happen around us during our life, similar to that "An Old Man with Enormous Wings" by Gabriel Márquez is a magical realism story or fairy tale and a form of natural versus supernatural that occurred with Pelayo and Elisenda. The story is about an old man with wings who gets stuck in the mud during the storm in Pelayo's backyard and about Elisenda who might be an angel. Márquez presents the story in a way that uses the old man with enormous wings to convey the man's indistinct religion to the reader to earn his own. In this magical realism, Marquez exposes us to a magical element with his tone to make us question whether the old man is a corner or simply an old man with wings and whether people judge a person's behavior. Marquez states that: "It must have been very close to see that it was an old man, very old, lying face down in the mud, who, despite his tremendous efforts, could not get up, prevented by his enormous wings." In this quote Márquez conveys to the reader that the old man is an angel by hinting at the fact that he has “enormous wings”. In general, wings could symbolize many things, such as the wings of birds or a plane, but in this story Marquez gives us the feeling that the wings symbolize an angel due to the fact that many villagers gathered around to see the old man and play with him if covered in tone, Márquez's tone gives a sense of humanity when he says: “Pelayo ed. Elisenda were happy with the effort, because in less than a week they had filled their rooms with money and the queue of pilgrims waiting their turn to enter still reached beyond the horizon." Here from Marquez's words it seems that nowadays to be happy people do everything to make a profit. Here Pelayo and Elisenda only think about themselves and how to make money, they basically just put a price on the angels and it gives the reader an idea of the loss of humanity that nowadays people basically put a price on everything to profit
