The stereotype of nursing as a female profession is still widespread, making it difficult for men to see themselves in this profession. The media often portrays nurses as various things that create a bad image, such as incompetent, unconcerned with their patients, or overly sexualized. Finally, many would still like nurses to wear the traditional white dress, thus finding it easy to identify the nurse from other professions and believing that the white dress is professional. By representing ourselves professionally, knowing our value, and simply continuing to provide the support and great care we give to our patients, we can change the image of nursing and get rid of these problems.
